Contents
Amp 1: Thiamine HCl 100 mg, pyridoxine HCl 100 mg. Amp 2: Cyanocobalamin 5,000 mcg
Indications/Uses
Vit B1, B6 & B12 deficiency in case of beri-beri, peripheral neuritis & neuralgia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM Initially 1 pair amp given until acute symptoms subside, follow up therapy by 2-3 pairs amp given wkly.
Special Precautions
Monitor regularly patients under long-term treatment. Used only when PO & inj cannot be used or would not work. Not to be shared w/ others. Not a substitute for a proper diet. High doses of vit B6 eg, >600 mg daily may inhibit the production of breast milk.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity reactions eg, sweating, tachycardia, skin reactions w/ itching & urticaria; conditions of shock; GI complaints eg, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or abdominal pain; acne; inj site reactions.
Drug Interactions
Pyridoxine: May reduce effect of levodopa. Decreased efficacy w/ pyridoxine-antagonist eg, INH, cycloserin, penicillamine, hydralazine. Thiamine: Reduced blood level w/ loop diuretics.
